Biographie

Dr. Florian Hoof war im Juni 2018 akademischer Gast an der Technikgeschichte. Er ist Medien- und Filmwissenschaftler und seit 2017 wiss. Mitarbeiter an der DFG Kolleg-Forschergruppe MECS. Er war Gastprofessor an der Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano (2013), verschiedene Aufenthalte als Gastwissenschaftler u.a.: Institut für Geschichte, Lehrstuhl Technikgeschichte, ETH, Zürich (2018/2010), University of Sydney Business School (2018), University of Sydney, Dept. of Information Systems (2015), University of New South Wales, Australian Business School (2013), Archives and Special Collection Purdue University, West Lafayette (2009).

Von 2007-2010 war er Promotionsstipendiat der Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes mit einem Projekt zur Mediengeschichte der Unternehmensberatung, 2010-2011 wiss. Mitarbeiter am Institut für Medienwissenschaft, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, 2011-2017 wiss. Mitarbeiter (postdoc) am Institut für Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt.

Seine 2015 bei Konstanz University Press erschienene Dissertation „Engel der Effizienz“ wurde mit dem „Geisteswissenschaften International” Übersetzungspreis des Börsenvereins des deutschen Buchhandels ausgezeichnet und erscheint 2019 als “Angels of Efficiency. A Media History of Consulting” bei Oxford University Press, New York.
